North Georgia Real Estate: The Time is Right for Real Estate in North Georgia
North Georgia real estate is primed for a comeback! Why? In a recent article, I mentioned some of the reasons that I moved here. If you’ve ever visited North Georgia, you probably have some reasons of your own. Then, there’s the financial side of the decision. While you may have questions about selling your current home right now, your real estate agent should have some creative solutions for you to make your deal work. If you’ve been paying attention to the news you’ve probably seen some hopeful signs in our economy.
In an article by the Associated Press I found on FoxNews.com, there’s mention about some major changes being designed. Whether or not these are the solutions to our current economic state, the end of the article mentioned some possible good news.
There were, however, fresh signs Tuesday that the housing recession may be hitting bottom. Home prices have been setting record annual declines, but in February that 25-month cycle was broken.
The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller index of home prices in 20 major cities slid by 18.6 percent from February 2008, slightly better than the 19 percent in January. The 10-city index slid 18.8 percent, also a little better than the month before.
If ‘buy low, sell high’ is the way of business, it seems like now is the time for buying your next piece of real estate in North Georgia. I’m sure the same is probably true in other places around the country. I only mention North Georgia because that’s where I am and have enjoyed living, between here and Atlanta, for over 20 years.
Included in this process, is thinking about the lifestyle you want to create. After all, how you live is partly where you live. So, if you haven’t already, start thinking about how you would live differently if given the opportunity. Moving is that opportunity for most.
Maybe soon we should kick around some home building ideas and designs that would suit the lifestyle you want to create in your new home. But, we have to make it quick before the intrest rates start going up and all the best deals get scooped up. Now is a great time for buying real estate in North Georgia!
